Wind Cave National Park 

 

Wind Cave National Park is in Black Hills of South Dakota. This large and expansive cave is known for its many chambers like the Post Office and the Elks Room. The cave’s unique walls are often made up of honeycomb-shaped calcite formations known as box-work.

The Wind Cave National Park is located 17 miles from Custer, just outside of Hot Springs, South Dakota.

The small national park is comprised of 28,294 acres and is home to a variety of wildlife species. The park's prairie and forests regularly welcomes bison, elk and pronghorn antelopes, making for a nice scenic nature drive. If you are looking to go down below know that tours are required to see Wind Cave and are limited in size.
